THE MACALLAN
THE GOLDEN AGE OF TRAVEL
BRIEF
2016 saw The Macallan launch a series of five exclusive, limited edition whiskies in Lalique crystal decanters.
The series, called Golden Age of Travel, re-lives the glamour of the 1930s, celebrating the first era of international travel by road, rail, air, and first of all, by sea. The first release features a very rare Macallan, distilled in 1937, and housed in one of 50 specially created Lalique decanters adorned with an iconic ocean liner, synonymous with the time.
IDEA
To celebrate the launch across the social channels of The Macallan, we collaborated with digital illustrator Jack Hughes. Known for his art-deco style, we worked with Jack to develop a series of thirteen stunning illustrations featuring the Lalique decanter on board a luxury 1930s ocean liner.
RESULTS
A campaign that really struck a nerve with The Macallan’s social media following. They absolutely loved this stuff. Not easy when you’re working as the global agency for numerous, culturally nuanced markets.
The Golden Age of Travel was The Macallan’s best performing social content to date.
